Full time Transport Planner / Traffic Engineer

Location: Central London

Opportunity:
Norman Rourke Pryme (NRP) is looking to appoint a Transport Planner / Traffic Engineer at consultant or senior grade to support our growing traffic and transportation team in London. NRP specialise in undertaking transport planning studies and developing traffic and transportation schemes for public and private sector clients. We provide a number of services including scheme design, transport planning and traffic modelling and you will have the opportunity to employ and develop a broad range of capabilities across these areas. NRP has a reputation for identifying innovative and creative solutions.

The position will primarily involve working with and supporting the London Team Leader in the preparation of technical studies across a wide variety of projects. The project work that NRP undertakes is varied, challenging and often high profile due to the clients that we work for in Central London. This ensures that the successful candidate will enjoy an interesting and satisfying work-life with many opportunities to develop valuable skills and experience.

Requirements:

It is essential that you have:

  • A minimum of two years of professional work experience;
  • A relevant first degree (or similar) in engineering, a post graduate qualification in transport planning or a suitable level of professional experience to demonstrate capability;
  • A working knowledge of industry guidance – TSRGD, Manual for Streets etc.
  • A high standard of numeracy;
  • Good written and spoken English;
  • A proficiency with MS Office software and Excel in particular.

Proficiency with some or all of the following software packages would be considered beneficial:

  • AutoCAD
  • TRL Junctions 10 (ARCADY/PICADY)
  • JCT LinSig
  • TRL TRANSYT
  • PTV VISSIM
  • PARAMICS
  • PTV VISUM

Remuneration will include a competitive salary that reflects your appointed grade and experience, a company pension, private medical health insurance, group life assurance, membership costs for professional bodies and eligibility for performance related bonuses.
